October 2017 - Coffee is a daily comfort. I usually make a Starbuck's blond roast in my Verissmo when I get home from teaching. Sometimes i start the day with a cup of Trader Joe's instant. What would we do without the pleasure of coffee?
September 2017 - The coffees of summer. I bought or received as gifts all these coffees during my summer 2017 travels! I haven't tried all of them but so far, Zabar's is my favorite!
April 2016 - I gave a test to my French 1 students last week. On the test they had to identify different foods in French. There was a picture of a French press that they had to identify as coffee. Some of my students had never seen a French press. I took mine to all my classes and demonstrated. Then I served them coffee, a local coffee from Garden City, KS called Jumpy Monkey.
January 19, 2016 - My new friend Jenny Hendrix came over after school yesterday and I made a salad with homemade ranch dressing, some no- knead bread and some brownies to go with her delicious homemade sweet potato soup. I finally brewed some Tully's coffee that I bought in Seattle over the summer. We enjoyed it. Really dark and satisfying. Jenny lives on a farm in Dodge City and it is truly the Oz of Kansas. Take a look.
January 16-17, 2016 - Anniversary Weekend in Wichita
I discovered Reverie coffee in Cocoa Dulce chocolate shop, a local Wichita specialty. I had a cappuccino and wished I'd added sugar. I can't wait to try this coffee at home. I nearly overdosed on Starbuck's iced coffees during this weekend because we don't have a Starbuck's in Dodge City. I had a delicious cup of coffee in the French bakery La Galette with my vanilla pudding, chocolate macaron, and chocolate mousse as well.

Christmas Break 2015 - Stephanie Wilson gave me so many cute Christmas presents. I'm especially thrilled with the wallet that says Coffee Monster. Paul and I went to Kansas City, Nashville, Memphis and Mississippi on our break to visit family and friends. I bought matching white coffee cups and saucers at World Market for an upcoming coffee salon at our house and some Peter's Pottery blue mugs in Mississippi. I bought coffee tea towels, more Roasterie coffee in Kansas City and discovered Honest Coffee in Franklin, Tennessee with my in-laws. In this independent coffee café and roaster I found the cute notebook pictured below called 33 Cups. It is a journal for coffee lovers. I am coffee-obsessed currently. Also pictured below is "my Starbucks" in our old neighborhood in Memphis (Prescott and Poplar).
November 2015 - I am so obsessed with coffee that I put up a coffee Christmas tree in our kitchen. I'm going to leave it up until Easter, I think.
Denver, Halloween 2015 - There are few people in the world that I love sharing a cup of coffee with more than Stephanie Wilson. She is such a great travel companion!
Ahhhhhh...coffee! The taste, the caffeine head rush. Coffee is one of my favorite activities in life.
I'm currently obsessed with all the coffee I bought during summer 2015. I discovered The Roasterie in Kansas City and a few wonderful coffee shops in Seattle where I bought coffee beans and loaded up my suitcase with them. Below is a picture from Thou Mayest in Kansas City.
